Viva Nexar in Las Vegas
Hi from Las Vegas! Last week we announced that Vegas is the site of Nexar’s first smart cities data partnership. Today, I’m very excited to be here for a showcase of what Nexar can do to make this city instantly smarter about its roadways.
Thanks to a local construction boom, Las Vegas has thousands of new construction sites popping up year after year. Nexar CityStream™, our smart cities data platform, is automatically identifying where and when these construction zones are causing the most traffic. And we’ve been sharing these roadway insights in real time with The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (Nevada RTC).
Here’s some great coverage we got from last week’s announcement in Smart Cities Dive, the Las Vegas Review-Journal, and Fox 5.
Now, I’m in Las Vegas for Nevada RTC’s “Work Zone of the Future” event, where Nexar is giving local media and elected officials an up close look at the value of the Nexar CityStream platform. We’ve got a mock construction zone setup — traffic cones, barrels, arrow boards, construction vehicles — that’s showing how pairing AI-powered dash cams with the Nexar app builds this incredibly powerful connected vehicle network that can give critical insights on our nation’s roads.
Las Vegas is the first city in the nation to use a connected vehicle network to make its roadways more efficient. It won’t be the last.
